Local rules
Pace of play.
Players should play at a good pace and show due consideration to other players, whether in front or behind, green staff, and members of the public. (Rule 1.2)
Out of bounds (rule 2.1).
The course side edge of any wall, fence or hedge, define the boundary edge of the course. In addition, the practice ground in any other areas, defined by white stakes, the clubhouse, and its tarmac standing, and the car parks are OOB.
Abnormal course conditions (rule 16.1). Immovable obstruction. Ball in general area. A Player may take relief under rule 16.1 B. if an immovable obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green and within two club length of the ball intervenes on the line of play. Ground under repair. Marked by blue lines. Ground under repair, play prohibited. Marked by either a blue line with additional white dots or a notice. Ground under repair includes deep ruts caused by vehicles on the course, but interference does not exist if this only interferes with the players stance.
Penalty areas (rule 17.1). When playing the 13th hole, players taking relief from the main penalty area (marked with red stakes/black tops) in addition to the relief options available under 17.1 B the player may drop the ball or substituted ball, for the same penalty stroke using the point on the opposite margin the same distance from the hole as the point the ball was estimated to have last crossed the margin of the penalty area. The reference area will extend two club lengths from that point, not near the hole in the penalty area.
When winter rules are in play, the following additional local rules are applicable.
Preferred lies.
When a player's ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from this relief area:
Reference point: Spot of the original ball. Size of relief area measured from reference point: 6 inches from the reference point, must not be nearer the hole than the reference point, and must be in the general area. In proceeding under this local role, the player must choose a spot to place the ball and use the procedures for replacing a under riles 14.2b (2) and 14.2e
Aeration Hole: If I players ball is on the putting green and lies in, or on, an aeration hole, the player may take free relief by placing the ball on the spot of the nearest point of complete relief, using the procedures for replacing a ball under rules, 14.2 B (2) and 14.2 E. When proceeding under this rule, the original ball may be substituted.
